Unbelievable perspective.

hey thanks pal!

Yeah I'm trying to really push camera angles now to help make the images more dynamic. Thanks for the comment and high score!

*highfives*

Character expressions are great, but honestly the composition is kind of messy.
The colors particularly are disorienting and making it harder to read what's going on. Eye flow is off, and I'm not sure where my eyes are supposed to be focusing.

When you make an illustration, consider in the future where you want the viewers eyes to start, and where you want them to focus. especially in comic pages, you need to direct the viewers eyes across the page in a smooth, satisfying manner. See:

Close ups of faces, heavy contrast, negative space, lighting effects, and character posing are all used to do this. The composition is good in the posing, face, and negative space department, but the bright orange lights (ESPECIALLY) the squiggly yellow tentacle thing at his feet, is so strong and attention-demanding, that it's disorienting.

Hopefully that was helpful I like your art style, I look forward to what you do next.

If there's one thing this world cannot have enough of, it's elves with freckles.

Is her back ok?

Interesting character design, that's for sure. The orange hair on the otherwise greyscale palette is a nice touch.

How weirdly striking. I like it a lot.

Rhunyc responds:

Many thanks. :)

I like the way you do faces, they're very expressive.

graskip responds:

Thank you.

Great use of minimalist style.

You seem to have a good thing going for you with your art style and aesthetic. It has a very clean, easy-on-the-eyes look to it, and I very much like the contrast of colours and detail between the main figure and the background.

THAT SAID, I think you might want to look into how you do lighting effects. I feel like a bit more shine to it would do wonders to the crispness of it. Also, I'm not particularly fond of the four little dots you used for her hair shading. I just feel that hair is the one place that you should spend extra time on lighting and shine effects, particularly in this kind of art style. I would personally suggest you try looking at some other artists who have similar sorts of art styles and see check how they do with hair effects. I could link you a few artists for reference, if you ever become so interested. Also, I feel like a few other places, like her leather armour, could have used some very light shine to make her whole figure pop out a bit more.

With that said, I'm very much liking your posing and expression you gave her. You do a good job of speaking about her personality through her body language, and that's a talent certainly worth noting.

TheUnseriousguy responds:

thanks for the advice, thats a good idea

Gotta respect an artist who spends that much time on a single piece of work and sees it through to the end.

Believe me when I say I know that feeling.

TheN0mad responds:

thanks much man :) it was alot of time but it paid off

Really cool; I keep coming back to look at it! I'm very fond of your art style and your animations.
I have 2 questions:
1. I see that the file is a .gif. I'd like to know, do you use Flash to animate, and if so, does Flash allow you to export as .gifs?

2. I'd love to commission you when you're available! What are your rates?

adeCANTO responds:

1. Actually, I use After Effects to animate, and I compile and export using Photoshop. :D I'm a total noob in flash. Seriously.

2. I'm setting up the final touches for the site. Soon enough I'll make it available! :D I'm not sure about prices yet, but I compared to the regular comissioners on Tumblr and if I think I'm overloaded with requests, I'll just make stuff more expensive so I narrow down on demand.

Professional concept artist and illustrator. Fantasy art and pinup women.
